Helium Mobile Discontinues Early Adopter Pricing Plan, Sparks User Backlash
Helium Mobile, a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN), has announced the permanent discontinuation of its early adopter pricing plan, effective January 27. The $5 monthly plan, initially marketed as a 'forever' promotional rate, will be upgraded to the Air Plan, alongside the $20 and Zero plans. The MOVE has drawn sharp criticism from early adopters, who voiced their frustrations on social media platforms.
The company cited long-term affordability as the rationale behind the changes, emphasizing that affected subscribers will receive direct notifications. This decision marks a pivot from earlier commitments, underscoring the challenges of sustaining low-cost offerings in the competitive mobile network space.
